What is an EGR valve and what does it do? An EGR ( Exhaust Gas Recirculation ) valve recirculates a portion of exhaust gas from an engine's exhaust manifold back into the combustion chambers. This is done to lower peak combustion temperatures in order to control NOx levels.
Particularly on diesel powered modern engines the EGR valve is renowned to be problematic.
It is not unusual to find EGR valves failing with only 30,000 km clocked on a car. This can be caused by many factors including the use of high ash content diesel and engine oils, poor manufactures design, not been serviced at specified intervals or if the vehicle is only used for short urban journeys.
EGR removal Ireland
What is our solution to EGR problems?
EGR removal. We can fully delete the EGR system through a full re-calibration of your engine's ECU software.
This will mean that your vehicle will never have any EGR related errors and performance losses again.
Common applications for this service are :
- Volkswagen 1.6 tdi engine code CAYC
- Peugeot/Citroen 1.6 hdi 2.0 hdi
- Opel 1.9 cdti and 1.3 cdti
- Ford Transit 2.2 and 2.4 from MY 2006 onwards.
- VAG 1.9, 2.0 PD and 1.6, 2.0 CR engines
- BMW all engines
We are able to delete EGR valves on most diesel engines from year 1998 - 2015.
EGR valves by nature introduce PM ( Particle Matter ) into the engines combustion cylinders. This in turn results in the Diesel Particle Filter clogging prematurely. By having the EGR deleted this will prolong the life of the DPF.
Our EGR deletion software is written to allow the DPF regeneration process to continue to operate normally.
Send your ECU to us we will delete the EGR and deliver next day throughout Ireland
Our EGR delete software will pass NCT, DOE and MOT testing
